Second edition of I-League to have 12 teams

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS) The second edition of the I-League football tournament will be expanded to 12 while for the third edition the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is mulling increasing the participation to 14.

The decision on the number of teams in the professional league was taken by a two-member committee comprising AIFF vice-president Atuo Mezhar and S.R. Dev. The two-member committee was appointed by the executive committee in its meeting April 29.

The two-member committee said the teams placed in top four of the second division will be promoted to I-League.
