Man held for trying to rape blind woman

New Delhi, May 6 (IANS) A rickshaw puller was arrested Tuesday for allegedly attempting to rape a blind woman near Delhi University, police said.

Shyam Sunder, 23, was taken into custody from Model Town area. "He has confessed making a rape attempt on the blind girl," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi) Devesh Srivastva.

On Monday, the 24-year-old woman told the police that a rickshaw puller molested her while she was going to meet a friend in the university's Jubilee Hall. He also snatched her mobile telephone.
